For this blog post, I will be talking about the current situation happening in California. Many of you may not know but in the last few days, Northern and Southern California have been having severe rainfall and set the highest record last Sunday since the 1980s. In less than 24 hours, 5-7 inches of rain fell all over California. The high-impact helped the regional drought and helped the fire season but started flooding and mudslides. A bomb cyclone was reported too, intensifying the storm bringing hurricane severe winds that were 50-80 mph. These rainfall are clearly caused by climate change and if this keeps ongoing...California may be a possible hurricane state for the first time. This problem has both ups and downs because it helps the state not be at risk of another drought but the floods can become very pricy to fix.

Hello Destiny I really enjoyed reading your blog, I definitely agree this is due to climate change and think it is absolutely insane that because of it, California can become a hurricane state. That is very scary to think how climate change can create so much damage. Overall enjoyed reading your blog and think you did a good job!
ReplyDeleteHi Destiny I thought that your blog was really good and informative. I had no idea about all of troubles that California has been going through. We are now seeing the effects of climate change now with The severe rainfall
ReplyDeleteI have heard a little bit about it raining in California recently, but I did not know it was this bad. It is a good thing that the rain helped the drought and forests fires that were happening, but it is very unfortunate that places there are becoming flooded and California might even have a possible hurricane. Maybe now more people can see how bad climate change is getting.
