Blog Post #3 endangered species
Mason Mitchell
A lot of the times we hear about a certain species being endangered but to me it mostly feels like I had no idea that they were endangered until hearing about it. It almost feels like there isn’t a decline. One minute a species is fine and the next minute they’re at risk of extinction. Well obviously something has to happen to cause a species to get form being fine to endangered to in some cases extinct. A species can become endangered for primarily two reasons. Loss of habitat and loss of genetic variation. A loss of habitat can happen naturally for example the dinosaurs dry hot climate changed very rapidly because of an a storied colliding with earth cause debris to be spread out into the atmosphere. This caused not as much heat or light to come through and because the dinosaurs couldn’t adapt to the cooler climate they became extinct.
However, a lot of times habitat loss doesn’t happen naturally and is caused by human development. Development of housing, industry, and agriculture can reduce the habitat of native organisms. Some of the species that are currently in danger of becoming extinct are the tiger, gorillas, and sea turtles. Thanks to conservation efforts there’re are teams of scientists who have devoted their lives to making sure some of these animals don’t become extinct. Hopefully they will be able to stop causing species to become endangered before it’s too late.

Nice work I know that we are destroying earth and animals but I’m happy that we are trying to come together trying to change everything we are doing wrong and turn them to rights to save the Earth and animals
ReplyDeleteI feel the same as you do man. I never really know what's going on as far as the environment and just how bad we are messing it up. If you know what I mean. I think I need to watch more national geographic and the news in general. I think bringing more attention to this will hopefully the more attention that can be gathered the more likely it is that something can be done to help these animals. Great post man.
