Blog #2…..Water Blog
Water pollution is one of the most serious ecological threats we as humans face today. Water pollution is when toxic substances enter water bodies such as lakes, rivers, and oceans. This makes the quality of the water decrease. Not only does this hurt our aquatic life, it also can seep through and reach the groundwater, which might end up in our households. Water pollution can be caused by many things. One of the most harmful being city sewage and industrial waste sewage. Organic are decomposed naturally in the sewage by the harmful bacteria and other organisms, the dissolved oxygen content of the water is diminished. This is very harmful to aquatic and marine life because every single one of these organisms need oxygen to survive.
I never realized how harmful sewage could be especially for the marine and aquatic life. Industrial waste is a big component to water pollution in my opinion because there is so much of it and also all of the toxic chemicals in it as well.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how harmful our sewage was to the environment, but it makes a lot of sense. Our waste from the city is actually really detrimental to the environment, and we don't really do much about it.
ReplyDeleteGood work but I would’ve liked to have heard a little more about the issue and maybe some ways we can solve it. I do agree that water pollution is a serious problem especially in third world countries so I’m glad you made light of that. Nice job
ReplyDeleteOverall great job on your blog you provided lots of new information that I had never new about prior to reading this. I always new sewage wasn’t nessecarly a positive but had no idea how harmful it actually was to our aquatic life. Also add photos for a great visual but overall super great job again.
