Blog number 5 Erosion and its effects on the environment

Erosion is the process of land eroding or being eroded by wind, water, or other natural agents. This causes an issue in regards to agriculture because when crops grow more naturally then natural erosion occurs but when larger farms mass produce products like wheat, coffee, palm oil, soybean, and cotton this will cause an increase in soil erosion beyond the soils ability to maintain itself. These things cause compaction, loss of soil structure, nutrient degradation and soil salinity. These will cause a huge increase in pollution and sedimentation in rivers and streams.

How can we prevent this issue. There are a lot of conservation groups who work to fix this problem. So donating your time, effort, and money to these groups can help the cause.
