Save the bees

This week I watched the movie Honeyland and it inspired  me to turn in my work this week with my blog. Today for global warming I am going to be talking about how it affects the bees. Bees are very important in the world and do a lot more than we think. Bees are responsible for pollination of our plants to help keep them alive and well. With habit changes the bees are unable to find places to live as well as places to do pollination to create honey for their hives. Another problem is the change in the temperature. Now that global warming is causing warmer winters, it is creating problems for bees to reproduce and some species of bees are starting to die off because of the weather changes that aren't normal. Bees are very important in this world and have many jobs and tasks that help us in the world so we need to put a stop to the destruction we are doing before it's too late.

    Great job with your blog. Bees are indeed in danger. I love bees. They pollinate our plants and they're adorable. I like how you talked about the issues that are directly and indirectly affecting the bees.

    Bees are very important. I hadn’t realized the effect weather had on them already with the slight change. This is a greater issue than I had originally thought.

    Hi Laurel! I really enjoyed reading your blog! I think this is one of the many reasons that we need to take a closer look to climate change! Bees are very important to society. They help control the growth and quality of vegetation. I really liked how you talked about all of the issues that affect the population of bees.

    Laurel! good job on your blog, before this class my knowledge on bees was limited partially because I hate these and have been scared of them forever, but after the project that we did together, and this log I feel like I have a better understanding of bees now

    I love what you talked about in your blog this week. As much as I do not like bees, I still think it is important to know how much climate change can effect not only the bee colonies but our society too.

     This will be the last blog post I  do on this topic, I have been researching and learning about the issues of conservation and extinction for several weeks now and I feel a lot more personally connected to this issue. this exercise has helped me gain a new understanding of the threat we face in our world today. Biodiversity is very essential in large ecosystems. The most noticeable, is the resource availability. With plenty of water, comes plenty of insects. The insects pollenate plants, which bring in amphibians and rodents, and fish. This draws in small predators like birds, reptiles, fox, and many more and this keeps going on and on. As long as the biodiversity is large within an ecosystem, it will continue to grow. Reintroducing biodiversity could rejuvenate a declining ecosystem as well, but this needs to be done very intricately so you do not cause a situation like the invasive species which causes a new issue. Why are our ecosystems dying if they can rejuvenate themselves through biodiversity? Well once again we as humans harvest anything we can from ecosystems.
