The water crisis

Women and children who do not have access to a nearby safe water source walk endless distances and spend hundreds of hours each day gathering their drinking water from dangerously filthy water sources. Children, particularly young females, are barred from attending school in order to collect dirty, contaminated water, which frequently causes water-borne disease, causing kids to fall behind in class. Children who do not attend school are ultimately unprepared to work outside of the family. They are trapped in a cycle of poverty because they are unable to earn a living. Diarrhea is one of the top ten main causes of death worldwide, accounting for 1.5 million deaths in 2012. The majority of these deaths might have been avoided if people had access to clean water. This is real sad because if humans did everything the right way I know this is not possible but still we got to do what we got to do make this earth a safer place to live.

  1. Good post. Water seems likely to be a major issue for the rest of this century. And yes, clean water is vital to good health.
