 Any hope left?

Global warming is destroying the land we live on and is continuing to put more and more of our animals closer to extinction because we as humans are refusing to look at the facts and make a change. According to Worldwildlife, because of the rise in temperature there is also a rise in sea levels. So what's the problem? This affects many sea creatures as certain water temperatures that would stay a certain degree now rising cause changes in habitat and therefore for food sources because the sea animals are going elsewhere for better temperatures. Because of this animals are dying of starvation as well as predators. Now without habitats to hide them in a secure and safe home, they are out in the open to where any hungry creature that swims by can see them defenseless and alone. This can change and it starts with us and how we are living now. From transportation to littering to mass production and greenhouses. All things we can change but now we just need to before it's too late.

  1. I think that you did a great job summarizing the article and giving your own opinion on it. I totally agree with your opinion: we need to build more shelters and safe houses for endangered animals so they have at least a chance to survive. We could try to make the safe houses look like their own habitat so that they feel a little bit at home. If the animals can't live in their habitat, they will most likely die soon. We really need to step up and change things around here!

  2. I think this is well summarized. The rise in sea levels due to global warming is an issue that needs to be immediately addressed as it is affecting both animal life and human life will subsequently follow. Take the great barrier reef for example, the rise in sea level as well as the temperature is killing the coral, as well as sea life. This will affect us humans too, as we utilize the fish for consumption. With the rising temperatures and sea levels, some land is essentially sinking into the sea, putting us at risk. The oceans temperature also affects the temperature of the planet. Soon the crisis of global warming will be irreversible and human as well as animal life will cease to exist.

  3. Hi Laurel! I really enjoyed reading your blog! I really liked how you summarized the article and connected your own opinion to it. I agree with the building of habitats for endangered animals. I feel like this would be very beneficial in the future. I also agree with the sentence “it starts with us”. I feel like if we get a small majority of the world to help contribute, we can eventually help re-populate the species.

  4. Hi Laurel, I think you summarized this article very well. I think humans often forget about the damage that climate change causes to the oceans and sea animals. We also definitely refuse to believe the scientists and environmentalists that study and know most about the environment.

  5. This is pretty well summarized. Global warming is indeed real and happening right now. And it will continue to happen. I think that there are ways to lessen the impact that we make on global warming and overall climate change. As to when we'll eliminate carbon based energy, that's unknown. However, we are starting to head that way. Hopefully, within the next couple of decades or so, We'll be rid of fossil fuels.
